The Bang & Olufsen ML/MCL Converter is the essential bridging component for any B&O installation where a newer MasterLink (ML) source system needs to drive an existing Master Control Link (MCL) installation. Introduced in 1995, it was designed specifically to protect older MCL link room setups from becoming redundant when the main room system was upgraded — allowing the full multiroom network to continue operating without replacing all downstream equipment.
The converter is a combined control box and power amplifier with an internal power supply. It accepts a MasterLink input from the main room system and outputs audio, data, and power across two three-pin MCL loudspeaker sockets — capable of driving up to four MCL link rooms equipped with passive speakers. Independent control of volume, balance, bass, treble, and loudness is available through the ML input. Functionally, the ML/MCL Converter replaces the older MCL 2P unit, but without the BeoLink Eye IR receiver (which is not required in this configuration).
This is a used unit, fully tested and confirmed working. It has been professionally inspected and is in very good condition with only light cosmetic marks from previous installation. Ports and screw terminals are in excellent shape. A genuinely uncommon piece of B&O infrastructure that is getting harder to find in working order.
