Designed by Gideon Lindinger-Loewy and produced from 1992 to 1996, the BeoLab 4500 is a flat active panel loudspeaker just 8cm deep, designed to hang on a wall and use the wall surface itself as an extension of the bass enclosure — a principle that allows genuine bass reproduction from a cabinet with virtually no depth. A 13cm woofer and 2.5cm tweeter are driven by a 116W amplifier with Dynamic Bass Equaliser, which compensates for the reduced sensitivity of the human ear to bass at low volumes. The characteristic green LED matrix display shows the source, volume, and track information. PowerLink connects to any B&O source; Speaker Link provides chain connection for multiroom use. Available in blue or grey fabric.
