The BeoCom 5 was Bang & Olufsen's flagship DECT cordless telephone system, designed by David Lewis and produced from 2009 to 2013. At its heart was an unusual combination of premium handset and a portable circular speakerphone base — the two working together as a unified system or independently. The speakerphone unit itself drew directly on B&O's loudspeaker acoustic expertise, with the round perforated cabinet designed in the spirit of their automotive sound systems.
The speakerphone base acts as both a charger and a hands-free conferencing unit. With the BeoCom 5 handset docked via its built-in magnet, calls can be taken or continued in full speakerphone mode — ideal for home offices or shared spaces. The base is designed to be portable, allowing it to be moved room to room during a call.
This listing is for the speakerphone base unit (Type 1825) only — the BeoCom 5 handset is not included. This unit is ideal for existing BeoCom 5 owners looking to add or replace a speakerphone base, or for use as part of a multi-room BeoCom 5 setup.
