Beoplay H95 vs H100
Is Bang & Olufsen's Flagship Upgrade Worth It?
The H95 set the benchmark for wireless over-ear headphones. The H100 redefines it entirely — but at nearly double the price.
Launched in 2020, the Beoplay H95 established itself as one of the finest wireless headphones money could buy. Four years later, Bang & Olufsen replaced it with the Beoplay H100 — not as an incremental update, but as a comprehensive rethinking of what a wireless headphone could be.
At £1,299 in the UK, the H100 costs significantly more than the H95 at its launch price. The question is whether the improvements justify that premium — and for whom the H95 remains the more sensible choice on the pre-owned market.

Titanium Drivers & Hi-Res Sound
The most significant acoustic upgrade in the H100 is its titanium driver, paired with a frequency response that extends to 40,000 Hz in Hi-Res mode — far beyond the H95's 22,000 Hz ceiling. When connected via USB-C (which doubles as an audio input), the H100 can deliver true 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution audio, bringing it close to what you'd expect from a high-end wired headphone.
Ten Microphones for ANC & Calls
The H95 used four microphones for active noise cancellation. The H100 uses ten — and Bang & Olufsen claims the result is more than twice as effective. In real-world use, this translates to significantly better isolation on flights and in busy environments, and considerably clearer call quality.
Dual Haptic Control Dials
The H95 had a single haptic dial, slightly recessed into the driver housing. The H100 moves the dial to the outer rim of each ear cup — one for volume, one for ANC level — giving a more natural, fluid control experience that audiophiles consistently praise. It's a small change that makes a meaningful difference day-to-day.
EarSense & Spatial Audio
Two features unique to the H100. EarSense continuously adjusts the sound profile in real-time based on how the headphones are sitting on your head — particularly useful for listeners whose fit shifts during long sessions. Spatial audio with Dolby Atmos head tracking creates a three-dimensional soundstage, though this feature divides opinion: some love it, others prefer to disable it.
Repairability & Longevity
The H100 is designed to last. User-replaceable ear pads and battery, a five-year warranty with Beocare, and a modular construction make it a meaningfully more sustainable purchase than the H95 — and a stronger long-term investment.
You want premium B&O at a more accessible price
Pre-owned H95 examples represent exceptional value. They remain superb-sounding, beautifully made wireless headphones. Ideal if Hi-Res audio and spatial processing aren't priorities.
You want the absolute pinnacle of B&O wireless audio
The H100 is the definitive B&O headphone. For audiophiles who want Hi-Res audio, outstanding ANC, and longevity-by-design, the premium over the H95 is justified.
The H100 is objectively the better headphone. The H95 is still remarkable value.
If budget is no object and you want B&O's best, buy the H100. If you're looking for the H95 experience at a sensible price, pre-owned examples are a compelling alternative — and BeoVerse stocks both.
